    Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF into separate pages?

Choose “Every page as a separate PDF” and click Split PDF. Download the ZIP to get all pages at once.

How do I split a PDF by page range?

Choose “By page ranges” and type the ranges separated by commas, such as 1-3, 4-6. Each range becomes its own PDF.

Why do I get a ZIP file?

Splitting creates several files, so they are packed into one ZIP for a single download. For up to 12 parts you can also download each PDF separately.

    Does splitting change the quality?

No. Pages are copied without being re-compressed.

Are my files uploaded to your server?

No. The PDF is opened and processed by JavaScript in your own browser, so the file never leaves your device. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded.

Is this tool free? Do I need to sign up?

Yes, it is completely free and there is no sign-up or watermark. There is no daily limit; very large files are limited only by your device’s memory.

    Can I use a password-protected PDF?

No. Remove the password first (open the PDF with its password and save or print it as a new PDF), then use the tool.
